New research shows nationwide inappropriate use of sports drinks
Over 11 million adults across the UK, including over a quarter of all men, are drinking sports drinks when sitting at their office desks. And despite being the most suitable for the majority of recreational sports-participants, almost 80% of respondents forget to drink water before exercise. A further 60% don’t remember to consider their hydration levels at all after exercise and almost 30% aren’t packing water in their sports bag.
NHC secures ASA ruling on Strauss Water
The Advertising Standards Authority has today (28.03.2012) ruled that Strauss Water must put a stop to their misleading and inaccurate statements about bottled water.
Wenlock Spring becomes a member
The Natural Hydration Council (NHC) and Wenlock Spring have announced that the bottled water producer has joined the industry organisation. This means the NHC now represents nine producers and 24 brands.
The Natural Hydration Council has restructured its management team and has appointed Kinvara Carey as its first General Manager. Kinvara starts on 1stFebruary 2011 and joins from Freud Communications where she worked with leading brands including Walkers, Pepsi and Mars.
BOTTLED WATER INDUSTRY TO MAINTAIN GROWTH IN 2011
Gleneagles: 4 November. Annual bottled water sales will grow by 3% by the end of 2010 and the forecast given was that this target would be hit again in 2011, according to Zenith International.
NATURAL HYDRATION COUNCIL DOUBLES MEMBERSHIP
Four further bottled water companies have today announced their membership of the Natural Hydration Council (NHC) – doubling the number of industry members and bringing the total number of brands that support the Council’s campaign to 211. Brecon Mineral Waters, Iceni Waters, Isklar AS and Ty Nant have joined Danone, Highland Spring, Nestlé Waters and Waterbrands to confirm the organisation’s growing importance to the bottled water industry as a whole.

The Natural Hydration Council (NHC) has re-launched its website today (07/10/10) to better emphasise its commitment to researching the science and communicating the facts about bottled water.
